Moon-skiers

Jostedalen

Jostedalen is a hidden fairytale in western Norway. Even for most Norwegians. The valley is tucked away under the icy arms of the Jostedal Glacier, the largest ice glacier in continental Europe. The small community in here thrives for skiing, and good skiing they have. But no chair lifts. To ski down, you have to climb up.

On a blistering cold winter day in 2017 we were out ski touring the area when this very special mallow light appeared. I climbed a nearby mountain to be able to get the right angel and show the natural drawings in shadows, snow and landscape.

The photo brings recognition to skiing on the Moon.
