Storm

Wildspitze is the highest mountain in the Ötztal Alps and in North Tyrol, as well as the second highest mountain in Austria. In 2015 I was climbing for the summit with fellow skier Melissa Presslaber. She was one of the most promising women steep skiers at the time.

 The weather turned on us just beneath the summit, and we had to turn around due to the rough conditions that suddenly appeared quite unexpectantly. This series of photos of Melissa climbing the summit ridge with the skis on her back, is a personal favorite.

 It shows how insignificant humans are when nature decides to take the lead.
