Under the Peak

The Shark Fin

This photo was taken on the Norwegian island of Senja in 2019. Senja is an island in Troms og Finnmark county, and the second largest island of Norway. It has a wild, mountainous outer side facing the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of my favorite places to ski.

The photo was taken on a foggy day when the skies opened up for a couple of minutes. Which is a normal affair when being in the mountains of Northern Norway. The mountain wall is one side of the rather famous peak called Segla, a mountain you often see portrayed with its enormous views over the fjords and ocean.

In art photography – simplicity can be a craft by itself. It is often more about what you let out of the frame, than what you manage to put into the frame. This is my expression and personal favorite from numerous photos taken on this beautiful island.
